I have “no intention” of returning to Russia, Russian travel company Russian Travel Agency announced Tuesday.
The announcement comes just days after the U.S. Treasury Department revoked a $500 million loan to the company, saying the agency had engaged in “significant violations of U.N. sanctions.”
The agency said the Treasury Department had found that it had violated a number of U,N.
rules, including “implementing, authorizing, and condoning” a foreign government’s activities, “exploiting” a U.K. government agreement with the Russian government, and “abusing” its own regulatory authority.
The Russian travel site was set up by the Russian state-owned Rostec oil and gas corporation, and it says it provides travel, hotels, tours and other services to people who are citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarusian Republika Srpska and Georgia.
