A gay travel agency in Texas has announced it will close its doors amid a sexual harassment scandal.
Happy Travel Agency announced on Wednesday that it will be closing its doors following an investigation into sexual harassment and misconduct allegations against the founder, Artemisa Molnar, the Austin American-Statesman reported.
The move comes after the Austin-based gay travel business announced last month that it was terminating Molnars involvement with its agency after he was accused of sexual harassment, bullying and stalking a female client.
Happy is an international agency that operates in more than 70 countries and serves more than 1.3 million people.
It has more than 3,000 staff and a total turnover of more than $2.5 billion.
Molnar had been CEO of Happy since 2011 and previously worked at the agency as its CEO, chief marketing officer and chief legal officer.
Happy has been a major force in the travel industry, with more than 50 years of experience in the business.
Happy launched in 2004 as a company based in Amsterdam that specializes in travel and entertainment, but in the last decade has expanded into other travel-related areas.
Happy also operates as a travel agency and hotel company.
Happy, a subsidiary of the Dutch-based agency Happy Travelers, also owns and operates the Lonely Planet Travel Awards and the Lonely Earth Travel Awards.
