Student travel agencies offer discounts to their students on trips to foreign destinations, a sign that the nation’s financial crisis may have finally begun to take hold.
The American Travel Association said in a statement that it is encouraging students and families to make the most of the savings offered by the travel service agencies.
AAP President and CEO Andrew Puzder said that the companies are also “pursuing our own long-term financial health to ensure we’re able to meet the growing needs of our nation’s students.”
Puzder added that the savings are part of a broader strategy to increase access to affordable student travel for Americans.
The American travel association said that in 2017, the travel agency industry was worth $4.4 trillion.
